In early 1968 three astute business men had a vision - the localisation of the insurance
brokerage industry in Trinidad and Tobago.  After discussions with several prominent
individuals, the visionaries, the late Mr. Mervyn de Souza former senator and Minister in
the Ministry of Finance, the late Mr. Charles H. Patterson and Mr. Krishna Narinesingh
formed a company called Consolidated Insurance Consultants Limited (CIC),
which was registered on 16th May 1968.  Mr. Patterson was the first Managing Director.

The late Mr. Jeffrey Stollmeyer, Chairman of Barclays Bank, Trinidad Publishing Company,
West Indian Tobacco Company and many other prestigious companies and Mr. Robert
Montano, founder of the South Chamber of Commerce and director of many boards
including Plipdeco and Barclays Bank joined the Board of CIC with Mr. Stollmeyer as its
first Chairman.  The company grew rapidly under the direct guidance of Mr. Charles H.
Patterson and Mr. Eric Norman joined CIC as Joint Managing Director. Mr. Egbert
Thomas a prominent Electrical Engineer became a director of the Board and Mr. Frank
Assue was employed as the Office Manager and subsequently became an Executive
Director.  Mr. Montano succeeded Mr. Stollmeyer as Chairman of CIC.

CIC's Board was strengthened with the addition of Mr. Ronald Chan, Mr. Hugh Caesar
- company's Financial Controller, Mr. Walter Marshall and Mr. James Camacho. 
Mr Ronald Chan then Managing Director of Scotiabank, succeeded Mr. Montano as
Chairman of CIC and there were many changes that followed, the most notably,
was the passing of Mr. Charles H. Patterson.

• The composition of the board was later changed and today the Board Members are:
• Mr. Krishna Narinesingh, founding member and Chairman of the Holding Company
• Mr. Michael Patterson, son of the late Mr. Charles H. Patterson
• Mr. Imtiaz Ahamad, Chief Executive Officer of Southern Sales and Services Limited
• Mr. Andrew Aleong, Managing Director of Albrosco Foods
• Mr. Anthony Hosang, Managing Director of Fine Art Limited
• Mr. Amjad Ali, Director of Advance Foam Limited

The latter three were all Presidents of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers
Association.  In July 2007 the company changed its name to CIC Insurance Brokers
Limited. The current Board now owns and/or controls over 75% of the stock in the
Holding Company - CIC Holdings Limited.
