When goods are lost in transit:

• Immediately notify the police in case of loss by theft etc and obtain the name and badge number of the attending officer.
• Inform CIC immediately.
• Store damaged items in a safe place until seen by an adjuster.
• Obtain a copy of the receipt or other documentation noting damage or missing items.
• Make an immediate claim in writing against the carriers, (if it is a third party), or the supplier of goods.
• Obtain a complete written report from the driver and/or loaders with the details of the loss and submit to CIC along with a detailed statement of claim listing all the missing or damaged items and the cost price of each item.
